Chrissie Merrill is a recognized expert in the field of film tax credits and movie production incentives. As Monarch Private Capital’s Director of Film Finance, she is responsible for overall planning, investment strategy and acquisition of film, television and digital entertainment tax credits. Over the past several years, Merrill has earned a reputation as a savvy negotiator, establishing Monarch Private Capital’s role in the Georgia film industry as an influential partner. Merrill has placed more than $500 million in film tax credits in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, resulting in over 50 films and thousands of jobs. She is a frequent panelist for industry finance programs and a film tax credit consultant to movie studio executives.

Merrill earned a degree in Business focusing on marketing and real estate from University of West Georgia, and serves on the Board of the Atlanta Film Society.




Film industry spends $2.7B in Georgia, state says

That animated peach seen more and more often at the end of film and television credits represents more than the production being filmed in Georgia — it represents billions of dollars the industry has spent in the state.
Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday that a record $2.7 billion was spent in Georgia by film and television production companies during the 2017 fiscal year. "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "The Walking Dead," and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" are just a few of the 320 productions shot in the state over the past year, up from 245 productions in 2016.  MORE
