Monarch Private Capital Marks Major Milestone with Substantial Completion of Sunraycer’s Midpoint and Gaia Solar Projects in Texas
ATLANTA (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Monarch Private (Capital (“Monarch”), a nationally recognized impact investment firm that underwrites, finances, and manages a diversified portfolio of projects generating both federal and state tax credits, today announced the substantial completion of the Midpoint and Gaia solar and storage projects developed by Sunraycer Renewables (“Sunraycer”) in Texas.
Monarch provided tax equity financing for both projects. Together, they represent another milestone in Monarch’s expanding energy portfolio and underscore the firm’s commitment to financing utility-scale energy infrastructure that delivers long-term value for investors while strengthening domestic energy supply. Each project provides both solar generation and dispatchable storage capacity:
- Midpoint Solar Project – Hill County, Texas: approximately 127.05 MWdc of solar generation paired with a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS)
- Gaia Solar Project – Navarro County, Texas: approximately 183.84 MWdc of solar generation paired with a 75 MW/150 MWh BESS
Both projects were placed in service in 2025 and achieved stabilized full-scale operations during the first half of 2026. The solar facilities are expected to generate approximately 585 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power approximately 54,000 homes, or the combined residential requirements of both counties. The BESS components allow energy from the projects or other sources to be stored and dispatched when needed, further supporting a more stable grid for all users. Together, the projects add capacity to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid at a time when electricity demand across Texas continues to climb, driven by manufacturing and data center expansion.
“The completion of Midpoint and Gaia represents another important milestone in Monarch’s mission to finance energy infrastructure that delivers both attractive investor returns and meaningful long-term impact,” said Bryan Didier, Partner and Managing Director Energy, at Monarch Private Capital. “Our partnership with Sunraycer demonstrates what’s possible when sophisticated developers marry with disciplined tax equity investors to bring complex utility-scale long-term energy solutions online.”
Unlike firms whose involvement ends at financial close, Monarch remains actively engaged throughout the life of every investment. Through comprehensive asset management, compliance oversight, and ongoing project monitoring, the firm works alongside its investors and developers to maximize long-term project performance and support successful outcomes throughout the investment lifecycle.
“Midpoint and Gaia are strategic additions to Sunraycer’s operating portfolio and reflect the strong execution and partnership required to bring large-scale energy projects online,” said David Lillefloren, Chief Executive Officer of Sunraycer. “Monarch’s tax equity expertise and engagement have been instrumental in bringing these projects to full-scale operation, and we’re proud of what our teams have accomplished together. Together, these projects are now delivering more than 310 MWdc of solar generation and 250 MWh of battery storage to the Texas grid, providing reliable, flexible capacity at a time when power demand is accelerating across the state.”
