1010 Commons, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, was originally built in 1970 and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The 31-story skyscraper once served as the headquarters for the Bank of New Orleans and Trust Company, becoming a landmark in the city’s financial district. Now repurposed, it serves as a mixed-use development that will feature a 250-room Fairmont hotel, a 216-room Element hotel, along with additional commercial spaces, and retail offerings. The building preserves its historic charm while offering modern amenities that highlight the unique history of New Orleans. 1010 Commons will open its doors during summer 2025, further supporting the growth and well-being of the New Orleans community. With the help of the federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit (HTC), the building’s legacy remains a vital part of the city’s future.
