1904 Farnam is a new affordable housing development in downtown Omaha that will deliver 54 studio and one-bedroom apartments for residents earning 40%, 50%, and 60% of the Area Median Income. Supported by Nebraska Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and State Historic Tax Credits, the seven-story, elevator-serviced building will also include ground-floor commercial space to support the local economy. Originally constructed in 1927 as The Union State Bank building, the property showcases early Art Deco design and remains an important part of Omaha’s architectural history. Located across from City Hall and the District Courthouse along the future streetcar route, 1904 Farnam is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, expanding access to safe, high-quality affordable housing in the heart of the city.
