Hilltop Terrace Apartments

Hilltop Terrace Apartments in Lexington, North Carolina, was originally constructed in 1947 as Memorial Hospital, serving the local community for several decades before the facility relocated in the early 1990s. Following the hospital’s closure, the building was converted into residential housing. Now repurposed, it serves as a multifamily rental community, offering 63 affordable apartments designated for low- and very low-income households. In 2012, the property underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation, adhering to federal historic preservation standards to enhance both its efficiency and livability. Renovations included updated kitchens, new appliances, flooring, windows, and modernized heating and cooling systems, along with upgraded bathrooms to improve resident comfort.
