The Holland Brothers Furniture Building, originally constructed in 1914 in Durham, North Carolina, has long been a cornerstone of the city’s commercial history, once home to various furniture companies throughout the twentieth century. In more recent years, the building fell into decline, leaving a once-vibrant downtown space underutilized. Today, the structure has been thoughtfully repurposed into a dynamic mixed-use development, maintaining its historic character while introducing modern amenities. The basement now features a restaurant, while the first through fourth floors offer open office spaces with glass-walled conference rooms. A new rooftop deck provides stunning panoramic views of the city skyline. Thanks to the North Carolina Mill Tax Credits, the Holland Brothers Furniture Building continues to play an important role in Durham’s growth, preserving its legacy while contributing to the community’s future.
