South Line at Perry Place, located in Petersburg, Virginia, was originally constructed in the early 20th century as the historic Brown & Williamson Tobacco complex. For decades, the complex supported Petersburg’s thriving tobacco manufacturing industry and played a vital role in the region’s workforce development. Now repurposed, it serves as a mixed-use residential development, rehabilitating approximately 292,000 square feet of space into 226 apartment units along with a 5,000 SF of artist studio space. Monarch Private Capital provided the State HTC equity for Caduceus Development’s 2019 project.
