Craven Terrace, located in New Bern, North Carolina, was originally built in two phases in 1942 and 1953 as a low-income residential development for African American residents. Featuring elements of Colonial Revival and Moderne architecture, the complex includes 46 apartment buildings and a historic one-story brick community building. Now repurposed, it serves as a revitalized residential community offering one- to four-bedroom apartments and townhomes. Craven Terrace features updated interiors, a new community center with a computer lab, and a state-of-the-art laundry facility—enhancing quality of life while honoring the site’s historic roots.
