1728-1730 Main Street

1728–1730 Main Street, located in Columbia, South Carolina, was originally constructed as the Brown Building (ca. 1901) and the Eurytania Building (ca. 1938). These two historic structures stood at the heart of Columbia’s downtown for decades. Now repurposed, the buildings serve as a mixed-use development featuring 6 luxury apartments—operated as short-term rentals—and approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial/retail space. Through a historically sensitive renovation led by architect Scott Lambert and Mashburn Construction, original architectural details such as wood windows, cast iron columns, and storefront facades were carefully restored or recreated. This project contributes to the continued renewal of Main Street and reinforces Columbia’s commitment to preserving its historic urban fabric.
