The Robinson & Marks Building

The Robinson and Mark’s Buildings were originally constructed in 1872 and 1866, respectively, serving as a clothing and millinery shop and the home of the Daily Phoenix newspaper. Located in Columbia, South Carolina’s Commercial Historic District, the buildings have been thoughtfully repurposed into a vibrant mixed-use destination featuring a seven-lane bowling alley, full-service restaurant, and women’s boutique. The upper floors house seven modern apartments, and exterior enhancements include a rooftop patio, private courtyard, and bocce court. This rehabilitation reflects Columbia’s ongoing downtown revitalization while honoring its architectural past.
